Boas Mary L. Boas was a renowned physics professor and mathematician. She received her Ph.D. in physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1948. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in 1938 and her Master’s Degree in Mathematics in 1940, both from the University of Washington. She taught at DePaul University in the Department of Physics for 30 years. She retired in 1987 and returned to Washington. To encourage outstanding achievement by women in Physics, the Mary L. Boas Endowed Scholarship was established in the year 2008 at the University of Washington. She passed away in the year 2010.
