Student Stories has always promoted Talent in it’s most raw and unfiltered form and that is what we believe in doing in the future as well. After its grand launch, with the motive of showcasing and celebrating the young talents, Student Stories is happy and proud to bring to you the Success Story of SPOTLIGHT‘s first Talent Hunt held in the eternal city of Romance-Tezpur, Assam. The city which dates back to the era of Bishnuprasad Rabha and Jyotiprasad Agarwala, the torch bearers of rich and unmatched culture has talent embedded deep inside its roots. Spotlight believes to give voice to those hidden talents which remain unexplored due to less exposure. So, let’s embark on this amazing tale where we celebrate Happiness, Glory and Talent !
The event took place on the beautiful evening of 3rd October in the Soulful ambience of Cafe Woodbox, Tezpur and witnessed a participation of students from different fields of education gathered in one venue showcasing their best of performances.
While the singing performances ranged from Nimrata Borah singing “I’m yours” by Jason Mraz, Abhinaya making everybody groove to “Sham” and then to crowd grooving to performances by Subrata and Sreekanth’s Assamese folks songs, the poets moved the audiences with their word-plays and finesse poetry.

The platform of Spotlight 1.0 witnessed the performances of Udeepana Goswami, Abhinaya Borah, Davejeet Sarmah, Snehasish Parashar,Priyanka Bezbaruah, Raktim Raj, Oliva Das, Sreekanth, Tinam Borah, Manjari Upadhaya, Subrata, Mampi Dey, Kasturi, Tushar, Nikita Yadav, Nimrata Bora, Shruti Das, Kamal and many other amazing artists from the city.

The show was hosted by Bharti Sharma from Green Hub, a youth and community fellowship and video documentation centre in Tezpur. Our online event partner was The Uncivilized India and our photography partner was Team RC who really did a commendable job. Spotlight 1.0 had the opportunity to get covered by leading newspapers of Assam and the organizer of the Tezpur event, Oliva Das got interviewed by the leading news channel of Assam, News Live.
