Q1. Nazar Battu is a very unique name, tell us what it means and the idea behind this name.
Yes, we always wanted a unique name for our channel, something quirky which gets stuck in your head. In one of our brainstorming sessions our Mentor and Co-founder Ameen bhai came up with it. It’s literal meaning is something that saves us from evil eye.
Q2. How do you come up with new ideas for your videos?
Ideas are floating around here and there, we just need to keep a sharp eye on them. If you observe our videos then you’ll find that everything, be it the story or the characters is very much connected to our daily life. people relate to them and that’s what makes them so popular.
Q3. Tell us something about your educational background.
Well I’m a CA dropout by choice, not by my choice but by Institute’s choice. I kept failing again and again, so, they decided to drop me out.
Q4. What inspired you to start YouTube? What was your parents’ reaction at the beginning of your journey?
Before making our own videos, I used to watch a lot of videos on the internet and always used to feel, that even I can write such stuff. Then, when I met Rajesh, Ameen Bhai and Harsh Bhai, we came together and started making all these videos.
As far as my parents’ reaction is concerned, I have a very interesting story to share. Our first video went viral and my Mom got it on Whatsapp, her first reaction was “ye tune gaali dena kab seekha?”
Overall my parents have always been very supportive in whatever I have opted to do. they believe in me and have always motivated me to go ahead.
Q5. Tell us something about your collaboration with the music sensation Raftaar. How was your experience working with Raftaar.
Experience of working with Raftaar Bhai was just amazing. We wanted some biggie from the music industry for our anthem song so, we approached him. He is a very humble and down to earth human being and has always extended his support to us, as and when required.
Q6. What are your future plans? Where do you see yourself in the upcoming five years?
As a team, Nazarbattu aims to hit a million subscribers by the end of the year. Speaking personally, I see myself learning a lot of things by working behind the camera, improve my writing skills and ofcourse just like anyone else I aspire to write and direct a movie of my own one day.
Q7. Amongst all your videos which one is your personal favourite and why?
It is difficult to chose but I’ll mention three. Dalveer Satbeer reacting to Salman Bhai’s bail, Bilal Junaid’s teachers’ day video and Mushtaq the coolest dealer. The reason I like the first two is that they were first of their kind. The reason I like Mushtaq one is that I enjoyed writing it. Ameen Bhai showed faith in me and gave me complete freedom to even shoot it on my own, not to forget Ankur did the character to its perfection.
