Meet the promising left arm spinner from Nashik Satyajeet Bachhav who saw the light of the day spinning his way into the Maharashtra Ranji Cricket team. This wily spinner took a huge 48 wickets in the U-19 in only 8 matches and was shot to fame after becoming the highest wicket taking spinner in India in a season in this age group. Registering 50 wickets in only seven matches in the Inter-District Invitation Tournaments he played very impressive. He bundled out of the match by grabbing seven wickets in an innings against the Latur District Team.
His work ethics is another plus that always separates him from the rest, says his coach Sanjay Marathe.
Playing with distinction this young man has won many trophies and tournaments and is working hard to take his game to the international level.
Q.1: People say that left arm bowling is quiet difficult. What do you have to say about this? What are your key techniques as a left arm spinner?
According to me left arm bowling is not really difficult. If you are technically right nothing is difficult. It mainly depends on how is your bowling action. That’s surely gonna get you the best results.
Q.2: Becoming the highest – wicket taking spinner in India in a season of the U-19 age group, what records have you planned up adding to your career?
Hahaha ..Well, truly speaking I didn’t plan any records as such. I am a great cricket lover. I was just enjoying my game and focused hard on it and I got the results. Adding up to my career, I further aim to dominate the first class cricket.
Q.3: According to you what is the most important factor to get the batsman out?
According to me the most important factor into it is to read the batsman’s weak point and plan according to it. You are unstoppable then! Rest everything is gonna fall into line.
Q.4: What are your words of strength that keep you high when things get difficult?
Believing in myself and being positive are the two things that always kept me strong when things went difficult for me.
Q.6: Name the cricketer whom you admire the most? How do you think you are gonna emulate him?
I highly admire Saurav Ganguly. He is a true hero. I Want to be like him. I know it’s difficult but I am trying hard…
Q.7: Spinners are known to hunt in pairs. Who do you think sets up the best chemistry with you till now?
Well, I have played with many good cricketers till date, but did not found the best fit till now. Let’s find it out in the upcoming matches.
Q.8: So Bowling in a grassy or green top wicket, how would you prefer to bowl?
I generally prefer bowling on green and flat tracks as they are quiet challenging and I like taking up challenges and beating them up.

Q.9: What are your future goals? What kind of platform do you need to show up your talents at the international level?
My future goals are to play for my country in all the 3 formats. Fitness is the most important aspect of this game and I highly focus on being totally fit so as to keep playing well and always give my best. Performing consistently at the national level is the main thing that I am heading forward with to take up my game to the international level. I have pushed my bar ahead and working hard to achieve my dreams.
