Sukriti Chaturvedi is a Delhi Girl. She is an RJ at Radio Mirchi in the show Meethi Mirchi.
Sukriti is a young talented and open minded girl who also makes videos on topics that are socially relevant and also public opinion videos.
By Qualification, she is an Engineer but She chose a different path to establish her career. She wanted to be an RJ. And Now It has been 3 years and she is totally satisfied with her field.
1. When did you have your first show? At what age?
Well, I used to work in a community radio station before I started interning with radio Mirchi. I was in college at that time, about 20 years of age. in Radio Mirchi, I did my first show at the age of 22.
2. How different is being an RJ from other fields?
The biggest difference is that is Radio, you get paid to talk. 🙂 That’s not how it is in any other field. You listen to music, talk to so many people through radio, connect with a large audience with just voice. So work is not really work. Its a party!
3. Why did you want to be an RJ? What made you choose this field?
So, I am an Engineer by qualification. I never thought I’ll become an RJ. It was actually a blessing in disguise. So while doing my B.Tech, I used to host shows in a community radio Station. When B.Tech got over, I got placed in an IT Firm. But the placement happened in Sept 2012 and the joining was in Jan 2014. So I had more than a year to do nothing. That’s when I started interning with Radio Mirchi and that’s about it. I never joined that IT firm then.
4. What do you think was the best show you have hosted till now?
Well, I’ll say, I still have to host my best show :). But yes, last year on Valentine’s day, I did shows with a few inspiring couples. I interviewed a visually impaired couple, an acid attack survivor, a gay couple among others. That was a great experience. I got to know so much about love and relationships in that show 🙂
5. Apart from this, What are your areas of interest?
I like to dance, I like to shop, I like to eat(a lot), explore new eating places. And I love to make videos. I am also associated with an NGO, Jan Jagriti that is into the education of underprivileged kids. I try to take time out and teach the students there once in a while.
6. Where do you wish to see yourself ten years down the line?
Well, In the mirror! 😛
On a serious note, just doing something new everyday. Trying something new, trying something that I’m scared of doing. ten years down the line, perhaps entertaining people with whatever new means of communication there will be at that time.
7. Along with being an RJ, You post funny and realistic videos too. What made you interested in Acting?
Yes. I do make videos and I honestly love doing them. I don’t really act. All my videos are ones in which I’m actually being myself. So if I feel like getting the “real me” out in a video, I do it.
So no acting as of now, But Yes hope to act in videos soon.
8. Who is your inspiration in this field?
Two Inspirations. The Two very very inspiring RJs.
One of them is Naved. When I joined Mirchi, I initially interned on Naved’s Show. So yes, he is a chalta phirta school of Radio. You can learn so much about radio by just sitting with him; in spite of being a superstar in the industry today, he’s the most humble person. Now that is such an inspiring trait.
The Second Inspiration is Sayenama. Whatever little radio I know, Its only because of her.
She’s the best guide that anyone can have and it’s an absolute pleasure to work in the same company as hers.

9. What is the most satisfactory thing of your work?
The most satisfactory thing is that you don’t work. You enjoy. You learn. You connect to people. You get to talk about your life and you get to do so many things apart from just work.
10.What suggestions would you like to give to our young, turning to be Radio Jockeys?
The only suggestion is that Be Yourself.
Don’t try to copy or imitate anyone because you are the best version of yourself. And Nobody can be you ! 🙂
