R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital is a medical school and hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It was the first non-governmental medical college to be established in Imperial-Era Asia. It is one of the premiere medical colleges of India under WBUHS and has the largest government run hospital in the state of West Bengal,India. It was ranked 1st in the east zone and 16th in the nation, among medical colleges, by The Times of India rankings. R.G. Kar Medical college and Hospital completed 100 years of its service in the year 2016.

Selection Process in R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital

The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of NEET 2017 score after which the students will be given the opportunity to submit their choice for the course and college. The total intake of the college is 200.

Eligibility Criterias in R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital

  1. The candidates must pass 10+2 examination with physics, chemistry and biology.
  2. The candidates must appear in NEET examination and secure a rank eligible for admission.

NEET:

NEET is a single entry examination for medical admission only for Indian candidates. The examination was held by CBSE and results are to be declared soon within 23rd June, 2017, after which the colleges will follow their admission procedures. The merit of NEET 2017 is the key factor for admission to the medical colleges throughout India.
