Oasis-2017,the annual festival organized by BITS Pilani, the annual fests of Western India, it will be an event of four to five days extravaganza holding various interesting events like music, dance, drama, games, competitions and much more.Bits Pilani, is one among those old institutes which have accelerated the technical education in India.Consistently ranked higher than many IIT’s, BITS Pilani has its own recognition in the country. It would be definitely a thrilling experience to be a part of Oasis, the annual fest of this historical institutes. In an interview with team of Oasis:
1.Why did you name your fest Oasis, what does it signify?
Pilani is in Rajasthan and it is all like a dessert here. In this desert where there is absolutely nothing and the small town of ours where this fest happens so we chose to name it Oasis. Oasis in the middle of the desert.
2.You are currently in which year? Any special memory associated with the fest?
I am currently in fourth year. I have been in a lot of events till now. Going for all these events and enjoying some great artists definitely holds a lot of precious memories. I handle sporting and marketing and I have lived a very great life here.
3.Bits Pilani has one of the biggest annual fest in the county. How does you and your team works and how do you fulfill the events?
The main work which the team does is getting the right participation; because it’s all about getting good participation, quality participation and not the quantity participation so we take a serious step here. Another aspect is reaching several people making oasis more widespread in India. There are a lot of initiatives on which we focus to make oasis famous among people and that is something we will continue to do.
4 . What are the most precious moments within your team and what is the structure of your team?
I work with a team of ten people. It means I lead a team of ten people and they also lead two people under them. It is a well managed structure here. It’s all about the work and making sure the marketing is done right. We work hard and at the same time we have a lot of fun.
5. How do you manage the fun part as well as the work part together?
The work among us is actually divided. For example like two of our members are looking after the Marketing so there work is to make it done on time. Yes we enjoy too but we focus more on the work.
6. We have seen that oasis has been associated to several NGO’s. How oasis has created an impact on the society through this event?
We contact a lot of NGO’s and get a lot of products which are made by children and orphans and we sell them here. All the money collected from these are again sent back to these orphanages and several social workers and to the right places. We make sure that Oasis contributes in the right way for a social cause.
7. Every event has seen some blunder among them. Can you please tell us about some?
There have been a lot of road blocks and blunders. Usually our artist are big celebrities they wants to take there sweet time and we see a delay of two to three hours in every event. We have to reschedule each event according to them so this is a major drawback.
8.How do you see Oasis as a new experience?
The best part of this event is you get to meet a lot of people and you interact with them and most of the time when celebrities go they say it is been one of the best time they have had here because people who come for Oasis like I said are quality people. So quality of the events uplifts by itself.
9.For you people what is the best about Oasis?
Oasis has a lot of opportunities for everyone who has an interest in any kind of thing. It has always helped learn a lot. It has also helped in learning the right leadership skills for anyone.
