So, how many of you think that she could make it to top?
Lets catch up with her as she unfolds the mysteries on her road to success !
How was your journey to MTV SplitsVilla ? Competing against thousands of girls, what kept you going throughout the process?
Splitsvilla was something I never imagined I’d do as I never thought I’d take up a reality show but it just happened to me and it’s really helped me develop as a person. When you are in places and situations, you’ve never dealt with before you automatically learn something and grow as an individual. Every individual has their own personality and I think that’s what makes a reality show work. I just wanted to be myself throughout the show, I didn’t want to unnecessarily create drama when it wasn’t needed. I was there to make friends and perform my level best in challenges. I just wanted to be perceived as a genuine and real personality.
You were crowned Miss India Australia 2015. How much this title mean to you?
This was probably the most life changing experience in my entire life. I was never into pageantry and infact had only auditioned after my mother had persuaded me. I never thought I’d make it to the finals let alone win the title. But my speech has always been my strength, I was able to conduct myself and present myself very well during the auditions, so I guess that’s what worked for me. It was honestly the happiest moment of my life. Seeing people recognize me on social media was such a comforting feeling for me. This title has helped me with everything I’ve earned today.. respect, recognition, motivation
Mention some of your achievements?
Tell us about one moment or one incident which was a turning point in your career?
So, basically I had relocated to Mumbai and was pursuing my modeling career. One day I got an audition call for Splitsvilla 10 and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go ahead but I decided to send my video anyway. But they ended up liking my video and called me for an audition. Now that I’ve done the show I’ve accumulated a fan base like never before. It’s been crazy, so many youngsters follow the show and since then they have been appreciating me and liking my work.
How do you manage to cope up with critics and struggles in your life?
To be honest there’s going to be people who pull you down no matter what your profession is. There will be people who will demotivate you, negatively comment on your appearance, your profession and your character. But it’s upto you whether you want to get affected by such people. I choose to only surround myself with positivity and I know how hard this journey has been for me and it’s only the beginning. Success is a long process, the journey is never ending.
What’s life of a model like ? What are the struggles behind the scenes which people don’t generally get to know?
Generally people only see the glitz and glamour of our profession. Yes the fame is nice but the struggle behind it is immense. We have to go through numerous auditions day and night in order to get our assignments, that too upon picking and choosing. Then we spend days where we are shooting the entire day, sometimes we don’t even get enough time to eat or sleep. It really breaks your body down at times.
What are your future goals? Do you want to stick to just modelling or will you be expanding in other areas like acting or theater as well ? What are your views about acting and modelling together ?
Well modeling for me is basically the beginning of my journey in the entertainment industry. Eventually I want to venture into acting. I’ve been really working on sharpening my skills so that I am able to enter the field of acting. Doing both together, I think makes it much easier to sustain in this industry.

Who is your role model in your field and why?
I really admire Deepika Padukone. She too roots from a middle class background and has worked her way up, all on her merit. I really admire that. She’s also exceptionally stunning and her performances in her recent movies has been really exceptional and breath taking. She is really the one, I look up to.
Have you been supported and influenced by your peers or was it solely your decision and determination to chose this unique field in a world of doctors and engineers?
I’ve been bought up in a western country where Bollywood and Indian culture doesn’t have much exposure. It’s not very popular there and even though there is an audience, there isn’t much scope in terms of career there. I always however liked to watch Indian movies and TV shows and that’s where I derived my passion from. My parents were very supportive and encouraged me to pursue my passion. So, I decided to give it a go, and here I am.
