A Fashion Stylist is one of the most popular emerging professions in the fashion world globally and is the job title of someone who selects the clothing and accessories for published editorial features, print or television advertising campaigns, music videos, concert performances, and any public appearances made by celebrities, models or other public figures. Meet Laksha Gulati, basically from a small town who always fancy the word *fashion* and everything related to it!
But being in a small town you can never grab opportunities neither as a stylist nor as a make up artist; but she took this negative thing as a positive by breaking stereotypes. Everyone knows about her now and they always follow her for new ideas. But being in a small town this comes with lots of haters too and those people who judge you! But she has always learned that *never look back* so here she is ! Let’s know more about her in the interview down below.
In conversation with Laksha:
1.Being a fashion stylist is not something in which everyone shows her interest. Tell us about your journey.
From my childhood days i was very fascinated towards Fashion. I always wanted to be someone who will have clear relation to Fashion and styling. From my childhood days i am in love to feel the fabric and analyze the designs of clothing whenever I visit Fashion stores. My family supported my zeal for learning and styling. After completing my graduation from NIFD there was no look back.
2. Inspirations leads great successes. Whom do you inspire the most in your journey?
Alexander Wang is my inspiration throughout. I have always kept in mind her most famous quote which is * Anyone can get dressed up and glamorous, but it is how people dress on there days off that are most intriguing *
3. Fashion stylist is someone who have to deal with a lot of new people every other day. How do you handle all the different mindsets of several persons?
No matter the type of clients , our main job is to make clients look good including Fashion image , Hair and Make–up , Daily clothing and Formal wardrobe. Clients hire us because they trust us to understand current fashion trends and identify where the trend is moving and our sole job is to work on this mantra.

4. In this era of ever changing fashions and designs, how to you maintain to change yourself accordingly?
I feel being comfortable and confident in what are you wearing mantra. Never go for something in which you are not comfortable. And one should understand the body shapes before buying anything. For example a bodycon dress will make a fat girl looks more fatty. Fashion is all about how you carry yourself.
5. Any fashion or makeup advice to all the teenage girls out there, who are too conscious about there skins.
I would advice teenage girls to have fun with Fashion. Take risks, start experimenting, break stereotypes. And always be confident . And once you do it, no one can stop you. Also I have a little skincare advice which I always follow which is *CTM* (cleansing , toning, moisturizing) everyday.
6. Any dream project you are waiting for? And which will give you a feeling ” Yes, I have always wanted to achieve this”?
My Dream Project is to launch my top-notch Label. So that i can bring my ideas into reality and convey my fashion sense as much as I can.
7. What are your plans for future? Where do you see yourself taking your styling career?
I want that *Celebrity Stylist* tag added before my name and currently I am working on it.
8. Any message you want to convey to all the youngsters out there who aspire to become one like you.
Don’t wait for opportunities grab every opportunity you can.
