The local cover artistes on Youtube, KavyaKriti, are Mahadevi Birla World Academy’s students. Kavya and Kriti Daga are twin sisters, born and brought up in Kolkata. They honed their skills under the maestro A R Rahman himself, at A R Rahman’s KM College of Music and Technology, Chennai. Kavya and Kirti started singing at the age of 6. They formed their own band in 2011, where Kavya plays the guitar and kriti plays the key. Their videos are tweeted by the famous musicians like Ankit Tiwari, Shankar Ehsaan Loy and many more. There are many tags defining them – Vocalist, Singers, Performers, Musicians, Youtubers, Instrumentalists.
1. What did you to start singing ?
We have been born into a family where music runs in our genes. So music came quite naturally to us. We have been learning Indian Classical for a long time now.
2. Do you write music, or you just do mashups ?
We do write our Own music as well. We perform in live concerts and live shows. One is up on YouTube also.
In fact our Original is slated to release in 2017.!

3. If you are given an opportunity, would you like to perform solo without your duet partner cum sister ?
Yes Of Course. KavyaKriti is a very important part of both of our lives. But we always try to maintain our Own Identities outside of The band as well.
4. What led you to launch your voice in YouTube and not other platforms ?
It’s the digital Age! Our generation is on Some kind of Social Networking App pretty much all day long! YouTube is one of the best platforms to get yourself out there. You just gotta have talent and Persistence & you will make it through!
5. Is there anyone you would like to acknowledge as your musical inspiration ?
Kavya : Beyonce! FOREVER! She is hands down the most talented Singer & Dancer & Performer!
Kriti : I love this band called Post Modern Jukebox! And the lead singer Haley Reinhart is my favourite!!
6. Would you consider yourself or your sister to be a better singer?
I think Kriti is just fabulous !! She has an awesome sense of Harmony combined with a knack for very specific chords. Kind of a perfectionist:P

7. Are you satisfied with the stage you are, or desire to achieve more ?
We are very happy with where we are right now but we strive for so much more. I would like to say:
