Different Courses Offered By IITs
Indian Institute Of Technology, an honor and most prestigious institutions of our nation will start admitting new students from 19th June,2017. Apart from being the institution of reputed name, they also provide a wide variety of courses and streams for students to choose from. The courses include both four and five year courses. To be more precise, it includes B.Tech (4Yr), Integrated M.Tech (5Yr), B.Pharm (4Yr), B. Des (4Yr), B.Arch (5Yr), Integrated M.S (5Yr), Preparatory Courses (for SC, ST and PwD).
Details About The Courses at IITs
- B.Tech – It is a 4 year course, which will fetch you a Bachelor Of Technology degree.
- Integrated M.Tech – It is a 5 year course, which will fetch you degrees in both Bachelor Of Technology and Master Of technology. It will give you plenty of time to develop your skills in college.
- B.Pharm – It is a 4 year course, which will give you a degree in Bachelor Of Pharmacy. It is offered by IIT BHU
- B.Des – It is a 4 year course, which will give you a degree in Bachelor Of Design. It is offered by IIT Guwahati.
- B.Arch – It is a 5 year course, which will give you a degree in Bachelor Of Architecture. It is offered by IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee. To apply for this course candidates need to qualify Architecture Aptitude Test,2017 conducted by 7 zonal IITs.
- Integrated M.S – It is a 5 year course, which will fetch you a degree in both Bachelor Of Science and Master Of Science.
Preparatory Courses Admissions Criteria
Vacant seats of SC, ST and PwD candidates will be allotted to candidates of respective categories on the basis of relaxed admission criteria. The criteria for admission are –
- the seats reserved for respective categories are vacant.
- candidates have not accepted seat in preparatory course earlier.
The institutes will run a year long course for preparing candidates for the courses allotted, to pursue in year 2018-19. At the end of course candidates will be declared Pass or Fail. Candidates appearing for preparatory course are also applicable for JEE Advanced 2018, provided they fulfill other eligibility criteria.
Additional Requirements For Some Courses
Candidates applying for Mining Engineering, Mining Machinery Engineering, Integrated M.Sc program in Geology or Geophysics, or Petroleum Engineering should not have any kind of color blindness. A certificate to this from a govt. registered medical practitioner must be produced at the time of seat acceptance. The standards of visual acuity with or without glasses will be adhered to strictly for candidates seeking admission to Mining Engineering as per DGMS Circular 14 of 1972. Persons with one-eyed vision are not permitted to work underground. Candidates with these limitations are not allowed to opt for admission to Mining Engineering and Mining Machinery Engineering.
