What Is The Society Culture or Clubs In IITs Like?
Before stepping into the prestigious institutions of IIT, all of you have worked very hard to achieve this benchmark. We all have formed a notion that in IITs you will only have time to study. Well! actually apart from your regular schedule of classes, labs and quizzes you will have ample amount of time to pursue your passion other than studies. ‘Clubs’ and ‘Societies’ are the things which will help you to fulfill your desires. Every IIT has its own different kinds of clubs which recruit freshers or second years. In a club, one can refine his/her skills and also learn many new things from the club seniors. There are many kinds of clubs like cultural, research oriented, NGOs, business, finance etc. which participate in various events like Inter IIT Meets.

Some Clubs in Different IITs –
- Dance Clubs – They participate in various dance competitions across India, also in the Inter IIT Cultural Meet. They also conduct workshops for dance practice to students of the college.
- Dramatics Clubs – They participate in various inter college and Inter IIT Cultural Meet. They also conduct street plays for awareness.
- Quiz Clubs – They participate in Quizzes all over India and also abroad. They conduct meetings over regular time periods to be in touch with all the current news related to every topic ranging from sports, technology, history to films, marriage and food.
- Film-making and Photography Clubs – They make photo shoots and short films on various current hot topics to create awareness. They also have their own YouTube channel to have reach.
- Literary Clubs – They will help you pursue your passion of writing. They are for you,if you wanted to but couldn’t write beautiful poems, stories,plays. They also conduct various workshops time to time.
- Media Body – They are the clubs which cover every news of the campus and outside for the residents of IIT. They are your journals in campus. They word hard to get you in touch with everything around you.
- Speakers Club – These are the platform if you are good at public speaking or if you want to develop your soft skills. It has activities like debates, elocution, extempore, and jamming. It’s members participate in various events of Inter IIT Meet and other competitions.
- Clubs for Rural Upliftment – If you want to contribute towards society by doing social work, then this is the place for you. They are organisations which work for the betterment of neighbouring rural areas by conducting various workshops or by different means like educating them.
- Music Clubs – If you love music and sing or play some musical instrument then this is the place for you. Here you will learn and practice your passion and also relax your mind.
- Technical Clubs – They include clubs of coding, robots making, Racing Cars making, and and all the technical interest clubs. If you are a tech freek then this is best option for you to enhance your skills.
