Amit Jha’s Interview:
1. When did you inculcate a singer in you?
Ans: I started singing when I was in 6th standard but at that time I haven’t thought much about it, don’t know why. I use to sing among my friends in my school and whenever I used to sing , they would say “my friend you have some thing in your voice, you can be such a good singer.” But at that time I thought all of them are making fun of me but of that I used to sing daily for them. School days passed by and now I was in college and was scared of seniors and ragging, actually the ragging was banned but I was still scared about it. After few days a senior named Ravi asked me about my introduction and I said my hobby is singing. He asked me to sing a song for him and he started making a video, I was a bit overwhelmed by that but then I closed my eyes and just went for it. I completed and opened my eyes , I saw 2-3 seniors in my room are sitting and all of them started clapping. Ravi said ” What a voice you have ?? What you are doing here?? You must be a singer so go for that”. That moment made me realize that maybe I can also become a singer.
2. Who inspired you to become a singer?
Ans: I am a huge fan of Arijit Singh sir. He is my role model and I am inspired by him a lot. He comes from a very humble background and now he is such a huge star and that motivates me a lot. His songs and his style is just terrific, he is different from everybody else out there. His voice is like velvet and it is so great to listen him sing.
3. What genre of songs you prefer most and why?
Ans: I mostly prefer Emotional and Romantic songs. The main reason behind this is that it calms me down and soothes my mind. My choice also depends on my mood. I have made covers of few romantic songs on my Youtube channel and you can see how much I get involved while singing my songs. Being a Bengali it comes naturally to me.
4. Who all were your motivation and pillars in your harsh time?
What motivates a person in bad times is his will to achieve the dream. My dedication to be a singer motivates me a lot. My friends and my love were the constant supporters . They have always motivated me a lot and have helped me face all the difficulties with a strong mind and will power. It’s very important to have people support you as it helps you remain positive but what is most important is how positive and energetic you remain about your work.
5. What is Amit’s key to success?
Ans: My key to success has been focus on my dreams and have faith in my self. Also don’t fear rejection. Rejection in needed to be faced before facing success. I think our dreams and mistakes are the most amazing teachers that we should respect and follow. Except your failure like a hero and learn from it and move on from there. Stay positive and build your dreams up.
6. Your parents don’t support your passion for music. What still makes you follow your dreams ?
My parents want to see me well-settled in future like all parents want. They ask me to focus on my studies and make a bright future. My parents only told me once that “when I was kid they used to leave me and I learnt how to walk alone” that’s why I learnt walking too early. That’s why I think they are true , they leave me in struggle to be successful in my life. And for sure one day I will make them proud. I know my parents want the best for me and have always been there for me and this is something that keeps me going, even if they’ll leave me alone in times of my struggle, I will still work day and night to make them happy and proud.
7. Your audience is your king. How do you keep yourself updated and worthy for your audience?
Ans: I try to follow “Walk In Their Shoes” Theory. Views on my post is very much less than the views on other you tube videos. I always check on likes and comments and views on videos and analyze what audience is liking and what type of songs they want to hear, so I make cover of those songs and hope fro the best.
