Elephant Arjuna, who participated in Dasara for 22 years is no more.

Arjuna has successfully carried the Ambari 8 times, he was 65 years old, 288m high, and weighed 5800 to 6000 kg.

Arjuna was taken into captivity during a khedda operation in 1968 from the Kekkanakote forests in the Western Ghats. After the death of his trainer Dodda Masti, his son Sannappa took charge of training him.

During the operation to capture the wild elephant near Yasalur in Sakaleshpur taluk of Hassan district, a fight occurred between Arjuna and the wild elephant. Arjuna died in the encounter.
