Career:
He started his first as a secondary character in the 1988 movie Biwi Ho To Aisi, in which the actor’s voice was recreated by somebody unknown. His first prominent role was in Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), which proceeded on to become one of India’s highest-grossing films. It garnered him his first Filmfare Best Actor nomination, but Sooraj Barjatya won the much-anticipated Filmfare Best Male Debut award.
Maine Pyar Kiya was eventually later translated into English as When Love Calls and the 125-minute edition was the greatest success in the Caribbean market in Guyana, as well as the box-office earnings in Trinidad and Tobago. The movie was also known as Te Amo in Spanish, and it was the first attempt of this sort. This 125-minute film also demonstrated its worldwide attraction with a spectacular 10-week premiere run in Peru’s capital, Lima. It ran for 25 weeks in Visakhapatnam and over 100 days in six Andhra Pradesh centers, known as Prema Paavuraalu in Telugu. It was also translated into Tamil as Kaadhal Oru Kavithai and Malayalam as Ina Praavukal.
He got back to popularity in 1994 with his second movie with the filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, the romantic comedy Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, which also starred Madhuri Dixit. Throughout the 1995 awards season, the movie received three Filmfare Awards: Best Film, Best Director, and Best ActressThe movie later became the most profitable Bollywood smash of the year and one of the greatest Bollywood blockbusters ever. It is one of the films on Box Office India’s list of “Biggest Blockbusters Ever in Hindi Cinema”. It also received the National Award for being one of the most loved movies of the year.
The star is also a host of a reality show nationwide known as Bigg Boss Hindi. He has been the perfect choice as a host after being there consistently for 15 years. Salman Khan’s Controversies, Court Cases and Political Issues:
- He is frequently involved in conflicts. In March 2002, he had a nasty split with Aishwarya Rai, and her family lodged an FIR report over him for harassment. The famous actress has stated that she faced both verbal and physical abuse when she was with him. After the split, the popular actor used to attack himself and injure himself badly when the actress refused to answer phone calls. The result of that police complaint has been nothing but a fatal media controversy.
- Later that year, in September, he was accused of a hit-and-run, killing 1 and wounding four more. He was captured by the Mumbai Police for careless driving, and a guilty murder complaint was filed against him. The famous artist was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment by the court. His lawyer stated that there wasn’t any strong evidence of him driving the car in a hit-and-run court case. Later, the artist wasn’t found guilty and got bail.
- He was found guilty in February 2006 of hunting endangered animals in September 1998. Later on, the artist was captured by the police. However, the star was released by the police for an unknown reason.
- Recently, the star was involved in a media-hyped controversy with Kunal Kamra about the standup comedian making defaming comments about the star. There were reports that the star took some major legal actions but later cleared the rumors and said that he was not going to take any legal action. The star also remarked these defaming comments as attention-seeing-strategy.
- One of the biggest controversies in Indian Cinema history took place in recent times when Vivek Oberoi stated that when he was in a relationship with Aishwarya Rai in 2003, he used to face life-threatening phone calls made by Salman Khan.
- The star also made some shocking statements regarding the 26/11 attack where he told a Pakistani news channel that Pakistan wasn’t the guilty one. He stated that the security breach happened because of our negligence, the Pakistani government was not involved in it. Later in the week, he had to go on X(previously Twitter) and say sorry. However, he indirectly blamed the press and the writers for making anything out of nothing just for the engagement. He said his family had to go through torture and hate on Eid and Ganesh Utsava.
