As we step into the next year we automatically get excited about the upcoming gadgets. Well, for tech geeks like me it’s irresistible to keep an eye on what’s new in tech.
So let’s get started on the journey of what is coming and what to expect from our favorite brand makers…
This article should serve as a hub for all the #HYPE in the gadget world up until now.
Specially with MWC (2016) and CES (2016) coming close we have a lot of tech to discuss about.
We have been receiving a whole lot of smartphone rumours since past few weeks which contain major brands like Samsung, LG, Motorola, Apple, Xiaomi and many more…
First up SAMSUNG
Samsung, like every year is supposed to launch a new device for S series, the successor to S6 and guessing by the recent pattern it would be accompanied by it’s edge brother too.
Jumping to the specs;
S7 is rumored to have the following specifications:
>>5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display
>>Snapdragon 820 CPU (USA, China) / Exynos 8890 (Europe, Asia)
>>4GB RAM
>>32GB / 64GB, with expandable storage.
>>20MP Sony IMX300 camera with OIS, phase detection auto focus, 1µm pixel size
S7 edge comes with similar specs:
>>5.5-inch dual-curved Quad HD Super AMOLED display
>>Snapdragon 820 CPU (USA, China) / Exynos 8890 (Europe, Asia)
>>4GB RAM32GB / 64GB, with expandable storage.
>>20MP Sony IMX300 camera with OIS, phase detection auto focus, 1µm pixel size
The pricing for S7 and S7 edge 32GB model would be €699 and €799 respectively and the 64GB model would be priced €70-80 higher.
The peculiar detail is that unlike the last time, this time around the edge variant will have a larger display panel than the Galaxy S7 which would make the Edge variant similar to what we saw on S6 Edge plus.
Then comes LG
LG is also about to release a device in Q1 2016 that would have to be the LG G5. The LG G5 is expected to feature a 5.3-inch QHD (2560×1440) display and include similar ticker display like the one found on the LG V10. The G5 is also reported to have a dual rare facing camera setup instead of dual front facing cameras that are found on V10, which would give a 135-degree wide angle view. The rear facing camera will be 16MP and the front facing shooter would be 8MP in resolution.
The fingerprint sensor will be mounted on the rear like the V10. The smartphone is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage (The inclusion of SD card remains a mystery but we expect to see it there considering the size of internal storage). The battery will be a little smaller this time, i.e. 2800mAh instead of 3000mAh found on the G4. The most interesting piece of hardware is the Magic Slot that is left to the imagination. It probably would allow for users to attach accessories to the device, things like 360-degree VR headsets, audio amplifiers, or even hardware expansions like a physical keyboard.
Mi5? What? Is it here yet?
Something we are pretty sure about is Xiaomi Mi5 offers to the point that there have been video leaks featuring the device. The long awaited device is reported to come to life soon.
So far we know that, it would be running on Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB of RAM with a 16GB/64GB of internal storage option, a 16 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera. The display is reported to be a 5.2-inch QHD panel and some leaked images suggest inclusion of 2.5D curved display and a 3D glass back panel making it more curved unlike the Mi4. The device is said to feature a 3,030mAh battery so far. The comapny might also launch a Mi5 Plus version which would be wider and would sport a 5.5/5.7-inch display panel.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is rumored to cost around 2500 Yuan ($390), which would make the smartphone quite the bargain we have seen so far.
Some honourable mentions go to-
Motorola Moto X (2016)
Reported to feature an all metal build, with an inclusion of a heat pipe *WHAT!*,well maybe they want to step up the performance game a little. We’ll only come to know later this year.
Other than that we are expecting, standard improvement in Processor, RAM, camera departments.
For all we know this might be a prototype that may not even come into production or may be this would be one of multiple Moto X variants. Let’s wait for Flipkart Offers & Price of Moto X and
Other than that there are a few devices to be excited about but we have no clue about them as of yet, apart from a standard improvement in Processor, RAM and camera. These devices include:
- Sony Xperia Z6
- One Plus 3
- HTC One M10
- iPhone 7
These are just speculations and leaks some of them are about rock solid while the others might be just fake rumors. We’ll have to wait and watch. What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below.
P.S.- May be Project Ara will come to the market this year…
